Anyone who has tried painting letters will know that one is left with slightly wider sections at the ends of the brush-strokes. Before an Inscription was carved into stone the letters were first painted on. So why the word “serif”? Well, it’s commonly held that the origin of the humble serif can be traced back to ancient Rome. And although you are unlikely to read that in a typography text book, that’s just about right (though they’re not always curly, of course). Most answered “ What’s a Serif?” with something like, “ it’s the curly bits at the ends of letters“. What is serif font software#
The Find My Font (Free) software finds Running on Empty (seen below), which is close, but not the same, but it did leave me with the feeling that a video effect could have been used, especially since in the video these letters are kind of dancing around.One of the reasons for starting this site was that I felt there just wasn’t enough being said about the topic. I have tried online font identifying software ( Whatthefont, Fontspring Matcherator, Identifont, but they return fonts nowhere near this one), searching for a description of the font, and looking for a list of the fonts that come with Resolve and MacOS for comparison, but no dice. The videos were made in Resolve, presumably on a Mac, so the font could be part of either. This was isolated from white text over a video screengrab, hence the subpar quality In these videos the following font is used for the title: I have contacted them, but they replied they no longer have any of the files.
What is serif font series#
Since the person who started the series abruptly left the organization I work for some files are missing, among which the fonts used. I am tasked (or tasked myself, rather) with continuing the montage of a series of promotional videos for an art exhibition.
